Allison Brooks Janney, an American actress was born in 1959. Over the past three decades her performance has received appreciation on both screen and stage. Janney received numerous awards including The Academy Award and British Academy Film Award. She also received the seven Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, she was nominated for Two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston, and raised to Dayton (Ohio). After her graduation from Kenyon College, she received an entire scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney became a television star in 1999, playing C. J. Cregg, a role she played in the political drama NBC's The West Wing (1999 to the year 2006) which won her 4 Primetime Emmy Awards. As a result of her performance in The Showtime series Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. Janney won two Outstanding Supporting Actress Awards for Comedy Series and was recognized six times in the Primetime Emmy Awards.
